Maker's Mark Cellar Aged (2023 Release)

The nose is buttery and caramel forward. Sweet in general, much like normal Maker's. The taste is oak forward with a silky buttery texture. The caramel and vanilla sweetness comes in later. The finish has the oakiness present and isn't overwhelming. Overall, this is quickly becoming a favorite for me. It is sweet and buttery.

Big whiff of green apple on the nose. Some pear and light caramel, too. Similar but deeper and darker notes on the palate. A fruity, sugary delight. Long but easy finish full of black pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Nice hug and a warm, lingering sensation in your mouth. Stellar.

Nose - Little bit of apple, light red berry, some light toasted leather, light white sugar, little but of a melted butter on a toasted bread. Palate - Lots of cherry and oak. Like a hotter Weller 107. Some heavy barrel wood on the second sip that turns into a soft sweetness before a heavy finish. Finish - Very thick Kentucky Hug that lasts maybe 15-20 seconds. Starts soft then rolls thick and heavy.

Pretty good with cinnamon punch. Decent medium finish. Tried again after sitting fir a while. Much better now. Really nice nose that has a bit more complexity.

A quick-take from Whiskey in the Winter St. Louis Whiskey Festival: Brown sugar, wheat bread, and a little bit of maple on the nose. Solid vanilla with a hint of baking spices on the palate. A medium sweet finish with some sweet oak. Yes, this is a great pour. I got to try this alongside their Cask Strength and honestly, this is better than that but the margin isn't as high as many would think—such a great experience to see the effects of cool cellar aging on Maker's Mark.
