4 out of 5 stars

Martell XO incorporates eaux-de-vie up to 35 years of age, with a minimum age of 10 years. The brand's signature emphasis is on the Borderies region, but here, it plays second fiddle. The XO is actually powered on grapes from the Grande Champagne region, backed up by Borderies, with no other crus included.

Tasting Notes

"The nose offers a spicy, peppery mix with oak. Also find citrus and dried red fruits. The palate offers robust, big flavors, ranging from plums and raisins, to a layered mix of earthy, nutty and lighter rancio flavors. A warm, lengthy finish offers oak, more pepper and spice, along with raisins, figs and added red fruits."
