Martin Miller's Gin
Martin Miller's // England
Martin Miller's Gin was released in 1999 and is distilled in England at the Langley Distillery. Though the botanicals are the same for their Westbourne Strength gin, the proportions differ. 10 botanicals are utilized with the spices and earthy botanicals distilled separately from the citrus peels. These two gins are blended together with a cucumber distillate added afterwards. The gin is brought down to 40% ABV with the addition of Icelandic water.
Distilled GinThis style of gin takes a neutral spirit and then adds juniper berries and other natural flavorings before it is re-distilled. After distillation, additional flavors (artificial or natural) and sweeteners may be added.
"The aromas begin with the earthy and spiced aromas coming first along with a healthy amount of citrus. The cucumber comes in loud and proud, particularly towards the finish and makes much more of an impression at this strength that the Westbourne strength. Not particularly bitter, there is a softness to the gin, likely due to the Icelandic water. This is a great gin to introduce folks new to the category, although you should also be a fan of cucumber. We'd recommend a gin and tonic."
