MB Roland (MBR) prides itself in being the first "grain to glass" distillery in Pembroke, Christian county, Ky, founded by Paul & Merry Beth (“MB”) Tomaszewski in 2009. The Kentucky White dog uses a mashbill of local white corn, rye and malted barley - the same that goes into their aged bourbon - that is then copper pot-stilled and bottled unaged.

  • White
Distilled from a cereal mash bill comprised of any grain(s). Generally unaged except in the US, where it must age at least briefly in oak for an unspecified amount of time. Sometimes sold as "moonshine" although that is a misnomer.

Tasting Notes

"It has an intense nose of candle wax and acetone. On the palate, some rye bread notes emerge, along with vanilla and toasted cornflakes. The acetone note repeats heavily on the palate and overpowers any subtlety it might have had, but I'll give it 5 extra points for not being labeled as "moonshine.""
