Nose: pears, cinnamon, peat
Palate: thick mouthfeel, cream, light peat smoke
Finish: wax, orange
Pleasantly surprised - very smooth, light peat. Given the younger age I was expecting more alcohol burn but there wasn’t any.
Magnificent. It's liquid mountain campfire on the nose. The palette is sweet and smokey with mild saltiness that conjures up BBQ and smoked ham flavors. All that backed by a faint ash note that settles on the tongue the a good cigar. I thought I would hate it. I'm loving it.
American Islay. Sweet and smokey. More expensive than the OG. Ardbeg 10 and not as complex but for a Peated American it is great. Maybe better Peated American but not at this price. I love Balcones Peated and Westland buI keep buying this as a daily sipper.
The nose is vegetal peat with green bark and moss. Surprising amount of alcohol punch. No sweetness.
The taste still punches. Got some malt and peatiness. Bit hot. But it's very short. Almost no finish. Wish it lasted longer.
It's definitely interesting. Fun to have around as a novelty. Probably won't be a standard. (It is fun to see the Pacific NW take its love of over-hopping beer, and now begin over-peating its whisky.)
