Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Rye

Sweet apple notes on the nose. Again with apple and cinnamon on the palate. Medium spice, easy to drink,m. Smooth medium finish. Solid pour!

Pepper and spices on the nose. Not much taste on the initial but some more spicy and leather taste on the end. Very smooth. Full bodied feel.

This was surprisingly VERY good! Not as spicy as most rye I’ve had and it’s a little light on the mouthfeel. But the taste is terrific. I caught a bit of banana nut on the palate and finished with caramel. Very easy to drink.

I like this. Very smooth!

Nose leaves a bit to be desired. I can’t pick out many individual notes here. Something similar fresh behind the alcohol. Herbs like mint or really old rosemary. Palate is much better, where the freshness is confirmed with strong black pepper front end and a pepper/herbal/woody back end. Back end reminds me of deer hunting after a stormy night. Dirt, wood and leaves... in a good way. Finish is long and warm. Enjoyable whiskey.
