"The nose is sweet and spicy, with a pleasantly waxy note (think old fashioned root beer candies wrapped in wax paper). The medium-rich palate has the elements of a spicy, warm ginger bread — powdered ginger, clove, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon — with brown sugar, apple butter, and vanilla. A hit of tart green apple appears on the mid palate to soak up the sweetness and tame the toasted/baked spice. That tartness drives the flavors into the finish, which flows out in a spark of gingery heat and charred oak. "
