Mount Gay Rum Sugar Cane Brandy
Aged Rum
Mount Gay // Barbados
This product is produced and sold primarily in Barbados, in no small part due to its name. This, of course, is a rum and not a brandy as the name suggests. It is named as such due to its high proportion of pot still distillate in its makeup.
It is aged for an unspecified time in used American bourbon barrels, and blended to proof using local spring water. Mount Gay stopped producing the "Brandy" in 2010 and it is a truly rare find when one discovers it on the shelves in the Caribbean. .

Tasting Notes
"The "brandy" has a shiny copper color in the glass. The aroma is filled with fruit notes and spices nipping around the edges. The spice notes manifest as cinnamon and nutmeg on the palate interweaving with banana, pear, and apricot fruit notes before fading into a short, dry, smoky finish."
