N: peat forward with, fruity notes trying to Pierce through
P: Fruity and peat reverse with the Sherry taking over, though peat remains and recovers on the mid to back palate become leathery and fruity
F: leathery with tobacco and fruity, fairly smooth, long length...mostly bc peat never dies, haha.
Overall good scotch. Definitely more restrained than Nikka SFTB. Reminds me of Lagavulin 8 but less fruity and herbal. Very dark color.
Not bad but can see why many may see it as the ugly step child of Nikkas core. The Coffeey grain and Malt have the complexity this lacks. Would buy for novice scotch drinker, but probably not for self. Would spend the extra on the Coffey line or their Single malts.
