Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt (Discontinued)

Y’know, it’s not as bad as I once remembered. Really it’s just a nice whiskey without a lot going on. Simple one note and not much to follow. A little sweet maybe. I’ll hit this bottle rarely.

The nose instantly smells of honey and candied fruit, with straw and hints of oak and barley sugar. The honey sweetness carries over onto the palate with a rich maltiness that coats the mouth, but is otherwise a little one dimensional. The finish is medium with a fading honey sweetness along with notes of straw.
