Nikka Whisky From the Barrel

Malted barley, hint of peat alongside fruit, candied sugar and citrus. Some grain/oak and spice on chewing. Great flavors, though a bit young w/some burn. Hard to find but great at MSRP.

Nose: Vanilla, peat smoke, brine, plums Palate: Brine, apples, raisins, smoke Finish: Smoke, spicy oak, plums Incredible whiskey, the first japanese I've tried and the best blend ever. Balance is marvelous here. The peat, the smoke, and the bourbon-sherry-influences are married together well.

Smooth at first then transitions into a Smokey oak flavor. Leaves a wood aftertaste with a little spice.
