Old Ballantruan is a single malt distilled at the Tomintoul Distillery in Speyside. Unusually for the region, this is a heavily-peated whisky. Ballantruan is the name of the water source the distillery utilizes. This is bottled at 100 proof and is not chill-filtered.
Peated Single Malt100% malted barley from a single distillery. Dried with peat.
"The aromas and tastes here are actually more akin to a mezcal with clay, meaty smoke, a little metallic note and mint. Some moss and dried herbs are found as well. The palate is quick to get to the finish line where you'll find a coffee bitter note and gentle peat smoke. A bit of an odd one, but not a bad one. "
