Old Forester Rye

Is this the best budget rye? It might be. Tastes good, rich with good spice and lots of rye bread. Nice and fairly long finish.

Best rye bang for your buck. This beat out many higher cost ryes in a blind taste test. Nose is up front and very sweet. Clove, anise, vanilla, oak, nutmeg. Palate is rich and sweet like frosting at first. Followed by a nice rye bite with spices, mint, more clove. A mouth-watering finish that lingers and slowly dries. Leaving oak, subtle cacao, mild funk. Great straight and great for mixing. 100 proof is a big plus. Can’t beat the price.

I don’t think I’m a rye guy to begin with but I did not like this very much. Took me a long time to kill the bottle
