Tastes

Sweet nose. Apple cinnamon. Fresh pastry. Floral. Taste is apple pie with a light burn that leads the way to chocolate ganache. Lingers with mouth coating caramel apple

Sweet nose with some depth. Sherry influence comes out with ripe red fruits. Palate rush with honey, caramel, frosting, orange peel. Lingering oak and sherry sweetness.

One of my favorite ryes. Bold oaky, spicy nose. Anise, nutmeg, allspice. Caramel and anise rich palate. Lingers rich and full bodied with spice and candied peppermint. Wish I had bought more last time I saw it.

Dilly dally. Dill all over this. Nose, especially in the palate. Lingers in the finish. I would think this was a young mgp rye. It really blocks an appreciation of any other flavors in this. Not a fan.

Improvement over the wheat. Cherry and spice in the nose. Berries up front, caramel, apple, raspberry, vanilla. Leads into baking spices, nutmeg, light clove. Nice overall. Reminiscent of regular Buffalo trace.

Nose is pretty plain. Very sweet. Palate upfront is bland. Leads into a sweet and wheat forward body. Lingers briefly with rye spice. Falls flat. I recall WSR being better than this

Campfire. Clean smoke. Palate is smoked meats, charcoal, charred oak, touch floral. Finish lingers peaty but not that strong. It’s a nice pour but so gentle compared to an octomore.

Leather, old suitcase, coat closet, lots of old funk on the nose. Little bit of mint too. Sweet snickerdoodle cookie. Palate is surprisingly creamy. Bright upfront with baking spices, caramel apple, cherry. Leads to long woody finish. Mouth-coating. Some tannins. The older bourbon is very prevalent here. Dry funky oak. Awesome overall. Everything blended in this bottle has its moment.

Tangy bbq sauce. Rich peaty, smoked meat nose. Citrus. Angel food cake. Heavy and oily. Peat bomb that cascades from tangy meats to earthy smoke. Strong sherry influence. Sea water comes through with a salty finish

For Canadian rye this is quite good. 100% rye. Nice spicy nose with some menthol. Heavy mouthfeel. Rich rye spices, mint, oak. Lingers grainy with a touch of funk.
