Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon

Obvious proof on the nose. Sweet aged oak and maybe a bit of banana. So many flavors in this sip. Vanilla, fruit, that oak, and something a little spicier. Cinnamon? Long, but not uncomfortable finish accentuates some of those flavors and mutes others. This is in my top 3 bottles under $25.

I think this is a versatile bourbon that is easy to find and easy on the wallet.

I've had this sitting on my shelf a while mostly being overlooked in favor of flashier bourbons, but I decided to give it a go tonight. This time around I'm picking up a few different flavors I didn't notice before. The nose is alcohol and classic sour mash. I'm picking up more sweetness. I'm getting some banana, maybe fruit cake. There's a some oak, and only a little leather. The finish is warm and fruity. I'm finding I like this much more than I did initially. This is a decent sipper.

Exceptionally tasty. Smooth caramel to start, perfectly balanced spicyness to finish. Highly recommend. Will be a regular buy for me.
