Reviewed June 8, 2021 (edited June 15, 2021)I don't know what this costs but it sits between the standard 86 offering and their 1897. The layers of caramel and vanilla remind me of 1897 but the bitter, over-aged banana on the palate kind of ruin this for me. The barrel strength cranked to degree of pain tolerance packs way more flavor but still run the risk of tannic ester flavors. As usual, choose your barrel picks wisely. Thankfully I paid nothing for this pour but would have parted with a solid $3-5. -

Reviewed May 26, 2021Floor 1 warehouse I Nose: Heavy and traditional with chard oak Pallet: The flavor does not match the heavy nose, not as strong as expected. Lots of caramel and mellows out towards the back. Finish: For 90 proof there’s a kick of cinnamon at the end. The bottle has been half full for a year so it has had plenty of time to breathe and it has gotten better. -

Reviewed May 5, 2021Bottle kill and last taste. I started off pretty high on this bottle, but it lost a bit of it's shine toward the end. Although this is a very enjoyable pour, I can't say it has anything that stands out from other bourbons at similar and even lesser price points. This was a good bottle, and I'm glad I had a chance to enjoy the uniqueness of this single barrel offering.
