this batch is a blend of 10 gallon and 30 gallon barrels. lots of oaky baking spices. some apricot on the nose.

Oak, toffee, and a little leather note all tickle the nose in a warm and pleasant way. A sip brings on more of the woodiness found on the nose, but also deep dark undercurrents of chocolate and red fruits, maybe raspberry. The finish is an oily mouthfeel that lingers with caramel.

Really complex and interesting. Certainly not a scotch if you are looking for something peaty, but I love this as a classic American Single Malt.
