Old Monk Very Old Vatted Rum

A college classic. Cheap and gets you right.

Smooth easy drinking on its own, with ice or a cola I find it light and not overbearing

It's a flavoured rum with vanilla and sweet flavor (I'm not an expert in alcohol tasting). As a Sri Lankan, for me the taste yes very similar to Rockland Dark Red Rum (it's more likely that Rockland had copied their recipe from this). But Rockland (and most Sri Lankan rum/ gin brands) is much more smoother in terms of the another's of alcohol. Old Munk has that quick kick you usually get from cheaper alcohol (Extra special Arrack) we find here in Sri Lanka.
