Old New Orleans Amber Rum
Old New Orleans // Louisiana, USA
Housed in a 150-year-old cotton warehouse in an industrial area of the city north of the famous French Quarter, the Old New Orleans rum distillery was one of the first entries in the new wave of American craft distilling. Old New Orleans is derived without the use of additives or coloring. It is 100% natural using high-grade cane syrup in a slow batch process. The sugarcane is sourced from one farmer, Greg Nolan at LaFouche Sugars in Thibodaux. Old New Orleans Amber is a blend of aged rum and spends up to three years in charred American oak barrels previously used for aging whiskey.

"The first whiff of this interesting American rum will instantly transport you to the floor of a butterscotch candy factory. That is soon followed by oily aromas of petrol, along with biscuits, raw sugarcane, fresh cut grass and bamboo. On the palate, it starts with the oily flavors found on the nose and is soon followed by honey, grass, and biscuits. Medium bodied and a little funky. Finishes long and sweet. Enjoy in a classic daiquiri. "
