Old Pulteney 12 Year

Generously Paul wrote an excellent review that I think is spot-on. The mouth-feel is luscious and a pleasant heat develops on the palette. There's a lot of tangy fruit, honey and salt to offset the sweet. The salty dry finish lingers with the gentle heat. Very nice and at $40, it's a great value. Permanent spot reserved on my shelf for this one.

Salty. A bit harsh, but with a mellower finish.

Nose: In a word, gorgeous! Sweet sticky buns, caramel, raisin, orange citrus, slightly floral, I could sit and just nose this whiskey for hours. Taste: Sweet honeyed arrival with minimal burn very quickly turns tart and herbal, licorice perhaps. Light and easy dram, quite delicate so probably best enjoyed before a large meal than after.
