Nose: Vanilla, sweet malt, ginger, brine, apples
Palate: Caramel, salt, apples, malty
Finish: Vanilla, brine, oak, malt
Nice basic whiskey. The salty character makes it stand out.
Aroma a fermento, damasco, fruta madura, compota. Frutos secos.
I really enjoyed this, I know alot of reviews say the new version does not match up to the old expression. It’s briny but sweet and caramel honey botes do come through. I had this. I had the Aerstone 10 Sea Cask which I found to briny, salty. Its got a good balance of sweet and briny for me and depth to keep me interested.
