Old Pulteney 12 Year

Vanilla, orange peel, cream, and salt in the background on the nose. Very bright and crisp. Smoky and briny at the start but still smooth. Then peppery moving to vanilla, honey and citrus with a touch of smoke at the end. Water brings citrus and cream to the fore of the nose but washes out the palette. 90/100.

Not bad stuff. This sits it a pleasant middle ground. Not too expensive, not too smokey, not to fruity. This is honeyed citrus with hints of sea salt, a tiny touch of iodine and a little waxiness to the taste similar to what I get out of Clynelish. Decent stuff for a good price.
