Parker's Heritage Heavy Char Rye Whiskey 8 Year

As expected, tastes like Pikesville but better. But that’s the opposite of a problem. No complaints with this one, other than the availability

Great smooth rye spice, mild cherry and some pine. Finish hangs around the perfect amount

$40 a glass was a joke but so good. Really full

I keep wanting this to be better than it actually is considering the price. Rye spiciness, subtle bubblegum. French toast butter and maple syrup. heat. Light to medium finish.

A touch underwhelmed with this to be honest. Drinks more like a Bourbon and not even necessarily a high rye mashbill Bourbon. It's good, but I was expecting more. Also seems a bit too hot for a 105 proof. What's interesting is that a decent amount of water brings out much more spice. But alas, still well short of greatness.

Cinnamon, vanilla, orange zest, and baking spice on the nose. The palate immediately opens with a surprising sweetness of candied apple followed by a nice rye spice. The finish brings out more caramel with a hint of tobacco. The finish is long and medium in strength. A very well balanced pour.

Another belated mess of thoughts. This was pleasant, rich and checked many of the boxes for a good rye (brown sugar, vanilla, rye-raisin toast, chocolate). Nose and palate came together with few surprises and the finish was medium long, warm and packed with brown sugar sweetness and a hint of spice. I would drink this any day but don’t know that I’d pay MSRP, let alone secondary, to have another go at it. Definitely appreciate the chance to try it though and anyone who scored a bottle is unlikely to have regrets. It’s all together a great rye but not one that stands apart for me.

Nutmeg, cinnamon, and all spice on the nose with a brown sugar undertone. Very rye pallette through and through with a mild burn in the middle and a dry finish. Not worth its price but certainly not bad.
