Clear straw color. Sandalwood, vanilla, citrus, a bit of butterscotch, and white pepper. Palate is more forward than the nose: sweet entry, almost banana with a touch of coconut, changing quickly to an herbaceous, grassy quality, with a touch of bitterness, finishing with a pleasant peppery finish. Drinks easy at just 80% ABV.
This is much more straightforward like good tequila with some good age and some good wood. The wood comes through a little more clear, both on the nose and on the pallet. Little bit more of an alcohol burn here compared to tapatio. Less green flavors and more subtle hints of vanilla and caramel. This is kind of reminding me of tequila and bourbon. And that's not a bad thing.
