A pleasant dram. Tasted blind in a homemade advent calendar. Lots of honey, apple and the spice from the extra proof compared to the 12. Sherry notes are there too. Malty. I’d drink this over the 12 and feel it’s worth the extra money although I realize that’s not a popular opinion.
Has a bourbon nose, brown sugar, vanilla and baking spices. A little more sophisticated than the 12 yr, but also a little shorter finish and a little flatter. Tea notes have weakened and cayenne pepper overtone remains from the 12 yr. More wood tannin and a tad sweeter. Not worth the exorbitant price difference. This might be fun at cask strength.

Apple juice, banana, honey, elmers glue, and caramel. Maybe a bit of nail polish remover. A little malty, with some cherry. Very nice stuff. Was very surprised to learn it's an Irish--I would have bet anything it was a Speyside. I'm also surprised this has a lower rating than the 12. I definitely prefer this one.
