Rhine Hall Apple Brandy
Rhine Hall // Illinois, USA
Rhine Hall distills fresh fruit eau-de-vie in their distillery in Chicago, Illinois. Their apple brandy is made with fresh whole apples from southwest Michigan, with roughly 25 pounds of apples needed to produce each 750ml bottle. The apple blend includes Jonagold, McIntosh, Gala, Cortland, and others.
Eau-de-VieMost often referring to clear, unaged brandy distilled from wine from any type of fruit. Some styles are macerated with skins after distillation which provide color.
"Rhine Hall's apple brandy is invitingly aromatic in the glass, with gentle notes of fresh-cut apple. The spirit is light on the palate, with a pleasantly bright acidity. Though less assertive than some of Rhine Hall's other spirits, it's an enjoyable and crisp eau-de-vie."
