Rhine Hall Pear Brandy
Rhine Hall // Illinois, USA
Rhine Hall distills fresh fruit eau-de-vie in their distillery in Chicago, Illinois. Their pear brandy is produced in the fall from a mash of fresh Michigan pears, with roughly 20 pounds of plums needed to produce each 750ml bottle. Availability is limited.
Eau-de-VieMost often referring to clear, unaged brandy distilled from wine from any type of fruit. Some styles are macerated with skins after distillation which provide color.
"The first taste of Rhine Hall's pear brandy leaves no doubt one what one is sipping. The flavor of fresh pair, which was lighter on the aroma, comes through unmistakably. The spirit has a slight peppery bite that fades as the sweetness of the fruit comes through. This is a straightforward, enjoyable pear eau-de-vie."
