A single estate rum from Guatemala's Pacific south coast, Botran is made from first-press sugarcane juice rather than traditional molasses, using two varieties of estate-grown sugarcane. "The nose is citrusy and dry, with a fresh herbaceousness. The palate has an aguardiente quality with very little sweetness and a subtle flavor of grapefruit peel. This rum lacks the complexity to sip on its own, but would make a good base for tropical style cocktails or rum and tonics. "
