Distilled from Costa Rican sugarcane, the rum is then aged in used bourbon barrels. It is blended using the solera method with 20-year old rums being the oldest part of the blend. The rum has a pleasant mahogany color with copper hues.
Aged RumRum that is aged, but no specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for length of aging, but will often carry an age statement (which should be taken with a grain of salt). Often thought of as "sipping rums".
"The aroma has a strong caramel aroma with notes of oak, vanilla, and black pepper along with a hint of cinnamon. The first sip reveals the caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon found in the aroma along with rich cocoa and toffee. Additional sips reveal toasted almonds and soft mineral notes as the rum settles in a light sweet finish."
