Reviewed July 23, 2022IMO, this is a great rum. Yes, it's a solera type, and it has a big 30 on the label. But the characteristics are very good, 40% ABV, smooth, and sweet, but it's not as complex as it could be. I get little mint notes with the sweetness and light tobacco on the back end of the palate. Some candy, like licorice and pineapple, closes the taste. The finish is short-lived.. what should we expect at 40% ABV. I prefer something like El Dorado 21 or Appleton Estate 21, which I think are more complex and deep than this one. Overall very good. -
