Russell's Reserve 13 Year Bourbon (2021 Release)

Chocolate smooth tootsie roll, char, fig, slight heat, cut, vanilla, oaky finish.

Hot on the front, great finish

Honey, brown sugar, and cherry on the nose. Nutmeg and baking spices make for an unexpectedly spicy palate after that. Big, bold, spicy finish with a gentle but long hug.

I decided to drop it a half point on the second tasting because it actually became more muted in the flavors you want while becoming more tannic. Nose is great sweet oaky slight Dustyness like an old book. Palate is slight blackberry bitters and burnt French bread with boiled peanut shells on it.

Must be different batches of this going around. There's no way some people are giving this a 5/5 based on what I have.
