Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon

Get past the initial burn and it becomes very smooth and tasty with a medium long finish

Nose: vanilla, brown sugar, light tobacco note Palate: tobacco, caramel, barrel spice and oak Finish: long and lingers on the tongue. I don’t get a lot of chest Kentucky hug on this. Most mouth. Overall: this is as solid a single barrel as I’ve had. Also for the record I’m a turkey ***** so I’m not surprised I like this so much. This is a high quality pour.

Sweet, but not cloying. You wouldn’t believe it’s high proof, but the rye heat comes in at the end

Notes of cherry turning into strong apple. Cinnamon and spice. Sadly, it turns into mint which then takes over everything which lingers and overstays its welcome. Not quite balanced enough, though I had high hopes.
