Still Austin Bottled in Bond Red Corn Bourbon Whiskey (Summer 2023)
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed October 2, 2023 (edited October 5, 2023)Still Austin “Red Corn” Nose: brown sugar and vanilla Palate: Vanilla Coke or like a light cream soda. It’s tasty af. My wife found the Vanilla Coke note too and she never finds tasting notes 😂. I also got a bit of cherry coke on the second pour. Caramel. Finish: rye spices on the back end. I got this bottle at total wine in Texas because it seemed like a weird mash bill but turns out its legit. SA makes really good Texas stuff with no Texas funk. Im not a fan of the texas hay funk. -
Hardin's Creek Kentucky Series - Clermont
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 24, 2023 (edited September 25, 2023)this sat for 204 months in a barrel. That’s 17 yrs folks. This packaging is absolutely trash. The 15 yr got a real embossed metal container with snap lid. It was a gorgeous presentation. Now this is cardboard painted to look like metal. Notice the wrinkles in the packaging. Ass cheeks! So for 190 you get elementary packaging. Ok so the juice is tasty. If you like vanilla, oak and brown sugar that super easy to drink then this is your pour. At 110 proof with no sharp edges it’s is a remarkably easy sipper. With some homies you could crush this bottle. Ok since Jim beam is sitting on some high age whiskey and started this 15 and 17 yr harden’s creek line I will say I’m impressed. Also the 2 yr harden’s creek expression is probably the best 2 yr whiskey I’ve ever had. But It’s 80 bucks for two yr. That’s a shame because if it were 40 that shit would be must have. Anyway I’m rambling. TGIF and Cheers.185.0 USD per Bottle -
Wild Turkey Master's Keep Voyage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2023 (edited January 22, 2024)Absolutely crushable pour. Nose: butterscotch candy and hint of brown sugar on raisin bread. 🫡 Palate: vanilla, butterscotch, boozy raisins. Not one sharp edge on this pour. Perfectly balanced. Outstanding!! Overall: at 106 proof imo this is easily the best rum finished whiskey I’ve ever had. If you get this one out with your whiskey buddies be careful because it can get gone in a hurry lol.240.0 USD per Bottle -
High West The Prisoner's Share (2022 Release)
Blended American Whiskey — Utah, USA
Reviewed May 19, 2023 (edited September 7, 2023)Berries and dried fruit. Winey on the back end with tannis drying. I paid 180 for this bottle. Honestly just buy the high west finished doubel rye. Finished in malbec cask. Its such a better pour. For what this is its 4/5 for me. -
Ezra Brooks Distiller's Collection Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed April 5, 2023 (edited April 6, 2023)Nose: vanilla, caramel and brown sugar. Palate: its a caramel bomb. Like a werthers original candy. With some barrel spice. This is a store pick from bethany dicount liquor in Allen texas. It’s outstanding. This is a smooth easy drinking pour even at 107 proof. Finish: is long and lingers but not hot. Overall 3.75/5 stars. Its a lovely pour. -
Nose is toasted marshmallows, burnt brown sugars and some vanilla Palate: carmel, vanilla and dark fruits. Lovely palate. Finish: coats the tongue. Very vicious. Little to no kentucky hug which for me is disappointing. Overall: 4/5 stars. The real issue with 4 gate is its prices. No dram is worth a base price of 200 minimum. Thats my only real argument with their stuff. Like garrison brothers why such a high basline price. In addition if you like MWND this is a price equivalent comp that probably more available in some markets.

Clyde May's 5 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed February 4, 2023 (edited February 5, 2023)Nose: light apple and pear. Tough of vanilla extract and brown sugar. The nose is light and sweet fruit forward. Very nice Palate: caramel, brown sugar and slight tobacco hint. Back end is all barrel spices. Finish: long and lingers not in the chest like a Kentucky hug but full mouth lingering. Overall: 4.25/5 stars. This is a smoking barrels bourbon society club pick. The drinkability is phenomenal on this pour. Super easy to knock back. Subtle fruit and sugars with spice is all very well balanced. I would highly recommend any Clyde mays group pick. 👏🏿👏🏿59.0 USD per BottleLumberton
