Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon

Perfect sipper for my first rating. Spicy with a little heat, so nice on a balcony in the summer evening.

Cinnamon, bubble gum, coconut, Oak

TW Store Pick: Strong peanut butter, good heat, mellows into almost a pb and marshmallow sandwich on whole grain bread, with a hint of cinnamon and a strong finish of pepper and spices. Very VERY tastey, adequately priced and will want to keep one on hand until the next store pick is available.

Too hot and spicy for 60% of the bottle. Last 40% mellowed a lot and is very creamy and oaky.

Sweet nose of vanilla, oak, honey, I even detect cherry. First sip is a big bite, a good bite of char and pepper notes. Second sip I get the sweeter notes up front of brown sugar, then that heat comes in. Very solid offering

Honestly....being a huge bourbon guy, my local store suggested Russell’s. So, I bought it and I could not be more disappointed in this elixir! To me, it tasted like an ashtray mixed with dirt. I will finish this bottle but I won’t be buying this again. I have far more other favorites that I will spend my money on.
