Simple // Idaho, USA
This is a gluten-free vodka from Eastern Idaho, made from locally sourced Russet potatoes. While Simple Vodka is friend to local farmers and the environment, their real mission is to fight hunger in America. Through partnerships with local and national hunger relief programs Simple Vodka is able to donate 20 meals for every bottle purchased. Since launching in May 2017, they have donated 29,000 meals and aim to donate 30 million meals annually by 2020.
Unflavored VodkaDistilled from any agricultural product, most commonly grains or potatoes. Typically distilled to 95% ABV. Water is added to bring the spirit down to as low as 37.5% ABV in the EU and 40% ABV in the US. It is usually filtered, often with charcoal, prior to bottling. It is almost always clear and unaged.
"This is very simple indeed. There’s almost no aroma to be had save a little hot rubber and the heat of alcohol. The palate starts juicy but becomes oily by the end. A long chew will reveal a light taste of artificial banana. As the texture becomes viscous a taste of mineral water emerges. This would be an ideal spike for any non-alcoholic drink, it won’t get in the way of anything."
