"Infusing black truffles into whiskey is one of those ideas that seems like it could go very wrong or very right. Fortunately for Sonoma County Distilling, their expensive experiment leans more toward the latter. The truffle influence is surprisingly subtle, layering an appealing earthy aroma atop the vanilla and spice of rye whiskey. It's rich on the palate with a long finish that coats one's tongue and lingers warmingly. The price is understandably high, given the cost of truffles, but whether that translates to good value as a whiskey is debatable. If one does snag a bottle, it will make a unique and enjoyable pour for an end of night treat. "
