Smokey and Savory. A little sour. The nose is nutty and smooth, and the palate is more complex. I taste nuts and bacon, and some fruit on the back end. This malt works in any season, but it reminds me of autumn. This is absolutely one of my favorite whiskys.
Rich and dense on the nose. Light smoke, pear and cereal notes. Opens up with water to bring out plums, grassy notes, and a bit of salty brine. Taste is spicy without water, oily and smoke at the end. Water brings unripe pineapple, medicinal and tart notes. Salty and light peat smoke at the end. 85/100.
Really well balanced 'All-Arounder'. Similar to a lot of Highland Parks it's got a little bit of everything going on. A bit on the expensive side for a 10 year old - but all Campbelltown Malts tend to be on the pricey side. I think this is a great whisky for new malt drinkers who are looking for something a little more interesting and challenging to the nose and palate.
