St. George Baller Single Malt Whisky

I’m coming back to this as I’m sure my thoughts will change over the bottle. I’ll probably change the score a few times. I have to admit I’m not sure I want to drink the entire bottle. But it’s extremely unique. There’s a rose water and perfumed taste that lingers with you for awhile. Nose: plum and pepper. Get some licorice on the finish. More notes to come.

Easily one of the most interesting drinks I’ve had. The nose is extremely floral with candied fruits. The taste come through with tons of spiced plums in dark fruit syrup finishing with a light smoke. It all works for me but I can see this being a love or hate situation.

Sharp umami, floral notes and plums. Interesting, but not particularly enjoyable. If you thought this would be better in a high ball, you’d be sadly mistaken. Label art is A+.

The final glass from the bottle. I've really enjoyed embracing this unique drink. It doesn't taste or smell like ANY other whiskey that I've had - including many Japanese offerings. It can seem overpoweringly floral at some level but once you look past that (ice/water?) it presents an vivid and unique profile that has helped expand my appreciation of whiskey in general. Its going to offend some palates with a blend of light plum sweetness, flowers, and deep echoes of smoke. Try it if you are wanting to wander outside the box!
