Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 13

Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Caramel, vanilla, dark fruit. Palate: Baking spice, clove, cinnamon. Finish: Hot and very long. Splash: A fruity note appears. Maybe raisins or cherries. Overall: 9.5/10 - Stagg (jr) never disappoints. If this were to become a shelfer at MSRP, I’d drink it weekly if not daily.

Nose of cinammon, charred oak, leather, cherry, dark chocolate, pear, almond, a little something herbal. After some breathing time there’s caramel as well. Spicy and rich palate, sweet cherry, cinnamon, oak, leather, a hint of vanilla. Long, spicy finish.

Stagg is so good. Incredible maple syrup nose then great palate. Would give a higher score if it had a longer finish compared to other stagg’s.

I’m not normally one to quibble over heat, but this is too hot when going down. It’s a nice candy sweetness at first, but then the burn overwhelms.
