Stauning Smoke
The whisky is made from 100% barley locally grown in West Jutland that is floor-malted at the distillery. It is smoked over locally harvested peat and heather, then double-distilled in small flame-heated pot stills.
It is matured in first-fill wine and spirits casks. Bottled at 47% ABV, it is available in the US as of September, 2021.

Tasting Notes
"Aromas of sweet BBQ charcoal smoke, burning thistle and orange peel greet the nose. The palate takes on more sweet smoke (the peat is not terrible briny or rubbery), with honey sweetness, tobacco, thyme, rosemary and bittersweet chocolate. The rich, hot finish is carried through on a boat of earthy smoke. "
