High quality in balance of not too sweet vanilla and rye; liked it better than I got it last time but if I remember right the price increased significantly (from maybe $45 to $60). But I like the flavors here so I will be looking for this one again.
I like the idea of them trying something new - but this was just a mess. Every time I looked at the bottle, I felt like I had to drink it because I paid for it. I would never buy again, or have at a bar. And if I was offered it - I’d ask for just a little. Finishing the bottle was a struggle. Do keep in mind though - I’m not a scotch guy... the smoke turns me off. So I may be biased...
It's a familiar Scotch flavor, but not nearly as rich as a Sherry casked from Scotland, or even Rua from NC. Guess I expected more from an all barley malt in the Rockies. Climate is right but the richness wasn't there for me.
