Tasted August 5, 2022Much more complex and refined than the 10, but I like the 10 better stylistically. Cottony caramel and currant on the nose, followed by a huge range of subtle flavors on the palate: honey, mixed nuts, lemon, beer, and even fried chicken. I don’t get a lot of smoke at any point, but I’m used to really obvious peat. The major disappointment for me is the finish, which comes up pretty short at this level. Not worth the $143 I paid, but it’s a nice change of pace from younger malts.143.0 USD per Bottle -

Tasted May 26, 2022Tasted side by side to Talisker 10 On the nose, less bite than the 10, way more subdued with wood and oak coming forward over the standard brine and smoke in the 10. Bit of vanilla and fruity. Taste is lovely, what a treeeeat! Way more fruity, almost no brine and not sharp at all compared to the 10. Hint of banana, bit of sherry influence. Water opens this one up massively!110.0 GBP per BottleReading -

Tasted April 29, 2022Nose: Vanilla, peat smoke, seawater, citrus Palate: Pear, spicy smoke, oak, brine Finish: Peat, spice, strong oak Absolutely delicious. The age of the whisky shows in more oakier presence. Smoke and spice are milder than in the 10 yo. So oily and full.15.0 EUR per Pour
