Teeling Single Grain Whiskey

I am new to trying to analyze whiskey so this will be short and simple. The nose was harsh at first but calmed over time. The prominent flavor was vanilla. It was spicy and the aftertaste was very strong. It dissipated reasonably well. Overall it was light with the exception of the aftertaste.

One of the most unique whiskies I’ve had this year - I liked it more with each pour. Like an Irish take on a wine-finished bourbon. Fruity, slightly dry, with bourbon-y vanilla and oak rounding it out. I dig it.

Good smooth drink. Oak flavor. Right amount of smokey peat.
