It has a clear, copper appearance. The aroma is of minty rye with possible corn, underneath. The flavor is similar, with a slight bubble gum note. It has a medium body and a dry finish.
RJT
On the nose: Woody spices with a touch of green apple
On the palate: A nice splash of heat with a cinnamon and brown sugar touch at the end
The finish: Moderately quick with a note of Sweet Pear
Overall: A fairly spicy Rye that’s an easy sipper if you’re looking for something casual. I do with the finish was a tad longer, but the flavor profile is nice, and I might pick this one up if I see it for around $30
Sweet with burnt caramel, vanilla and brown sugar notes. The spice then kicks in and comes to a smooth finish. Not your typical rye but very nice nevertheless.
Nice to sip but makes for a nice old fashioned.
For such a young whiskey there’s a decent length of finish. Caramel and vanilla notes are foremost. A good value proposition and a fine choice for cocktails.
