Tequila Tapatio Blanco
Tequila Blanco
Tequila Tapatio // Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Tapatío Tequila is produced at La Alteña Distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, where the Camarena family has been making tequila since 1937, much of it originally for local consumption. The brand is a joint project between master distiller Carlos Camarena and Marko Karakasevic of Charbay Winery & Distillery in Napa.
Made with 100% estate-grown blue weber agave, the piñas are roasted for four days, fermented with a proprietary yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. The tequila then rests in stainless steel for about six months before bottling.

Tasting Notes
"Lots of character here, with raw, juicy agave notes overlaying a base of licorice, black pepper, and tar. Lively and pungent, it's surprisingly light-textured and has a clean, mineral finish. While it's quite sippable, it's clear they were going for maximum complexity and flavor impact rather than refinement or palate-coating richness."
