Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year

Nose: Grapes, Vanilla, Honey Palate: Nuts, Vanilla, Spicy Finish: Wood Spice, Raisins

Sweet, fruity almost on the nose. Vanilla and nutty notes. Hints of citrus and lemon with apricot. This is a fantastic 12 year malt that is not heavy in peat or that smoke taste. Very smooth.

Nose is sweet and bourbon-like but with a malty musty and buttery note. Hints of vanilla and green apple appear. Palate is like a buttery cinnamon roll with healthy amounts of barrel spice (for a scotch). A hint of orange peel and new leather show up towards the back end. Finish is long but thin. Leaves you wanting more.
