Balvenie Peat Week 14 Year (2002 Edition)

I was a wine drinker and happened upon this. It changed my palate. It is my absolute favorite spirit. I have built an entire home bar based on the inspiration for BPW14

Color: Gold Honey N: Smokey , Nutty , Pepper , Musty, Sweet Caramel P: Spicy, Nutty, Smokey, Bacon F:Long Finish, Spicy, Bitter, Dark Chocolate, Oily, Tobacco Similar to Lagavulin 16, but more intense.

Some vanilla and orange nose. Peppery spicey tongue

Scotchtoberfest take home. This is an Old Fashioned in a bottle. Syrupy sweetness and smoke. Love it as-is from a flask. Nose is peat and floral with a bit of medicinal benzene that rounds into butterscotch. First sip is smoke and twang. Orange honey? No real burn at 48.5 abv. Medium long finish of hot vanilla smoke. I like this a lot. MSRP is a bit high, but a lovely dram when someone else is paying.

A kind of weird sweet peatiness, like a syrupy Talisker. Not sure what to make of this. 88
