The Devil's Own Gold Rum
The Devil's Own // Oregon, USA
The color is light straw deriving from the spirit's one year of aging in new, charred Missouri oak. As are all of the rums, this one is double-distilled in a stainless reflux still with optional double column capable of various configurations.
Gold RumRum that is often aged, but can also just have caramel-coloring added to provide color. No specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for aging for most countries with a few exceptions.
"There's a fresh-barrel woodiness on the nose, coupled with more char than vanilla and a slightly suppressed note of heat. A warm sweetness and pleasantly woody complexity emerge on the palate, as do hints of caramel and spice. A few drops of water releases appealing butterscotch attributes. Sip over a single, large cube of ice."
