The Whistler Imperial Stout Cask Finish

Starts with a noticable wheatiness, then some more hay, light coffee, dried dark fruit, light cinnamon, then some more hay closer to the finish which is medium length and light on any spice. Its a decent dram, i probably wouldnt be inclined to pick it up again, but it isnt bad. It’s definitely has more depth than jameson or some other standard irish ive had but yet again i think some of the orher whistler cask finishes would have been a better choice.

Nose- this is going ti be different, Body- chocolate italian soda, malt balls, and dark chocolate Finish- chocolate gives way to coffee This is very different that any Irish I have had. Good although not a flavor profile I usually look for.

Not bad but nothing special. Slight chocolate on the nose and taste. Oily. Get the wheat on the nose.

I wasn’t sure what to expect. First with this cask experience. Smooth enough.

Surprised by how much I like this- was not sure what to expect. Wheat forward nose, with a small hint of chocolate, leading to a heavily malted/caramel taste that finishes with subtle bitterness and more chocolate.

Not an overwhelming stout. But nothing to write home about

Remind me a lot of Jameson stout cask. The beer finish is obvious. Other than that at 43% it felt like a very good Irish whiskey. The unmalted barley is present. Very thin, but super drinkable. Enjoyed the hell out it with my friends.

The Whistler Imperial Stout Cask Finish has one of the most impressive bottles I have ever seen. The cool slick black bottle matches the artistic label and musical cork. Boann Distillery fills their Whistler 7-year-old Single Malt casks and fills them with the distillery’s own Boyne Brewhouse Imperial Stout Beer. The casks are then refilled with blends of their malt and grain whiskey together to impart a distinct flavor profile. The Whistler Imperial Stout Cask Finish is triple distilled, non-chill filtered, and is bottled at 43% ABV. Color: Deep Copper On the nose are notes of coffee, wet grass, vanilla, creamy, dark chocolate, malty, oak, and corn grains. On the palate are notes of toffee, malt, dark chocolate, and a thick creamy vanilla. The finish is medium in length, a little shorter than I’d like, with leather, floral, and vanilla notes.
