Reviewed August 26, 2021Nose: mango, papaya, banana, peach, vanilla, cold lemon tea. Green apple predominates. A triumph of tropical fruit. Palate: sweet but pungent, with banana, green apple, papaya and lycees, here appears what did not show through on the nose: it is a very young whisky. I find a disconnect between the sweet part, very sweet, and the bitter part, as if there were barrels that did not blend well with each other. The alcohol is very evident, perhaps this whisky would have been more appreciable with 40% instead of 46%. Final: persistently bitter. Nothing to say, for me a brave whisky in its aging in rum barrels, which excels on the nose, but which in the palate and in the finish I find, how to say, wrong…. Rating 3.25 ___________________________________________________________________ Naso: mango, papaya, banana, pesca, vaniglia, the freddo al limone.

Reviewed June 18, 2018Only 6500 bottles were ever produced??? Sad... Really great whisky - it's fruity and aromatic, with pear and vanilla on the nose. Palate has notes of cereal and sugar, like Frosted Flakes (AKA my favorite breakfast cereal). The finish has hints of cacao nibs. The texture is oily with a finish that is fairly long. If you can get past its well-hydrated urine-like color and the fact that getting your hands on this thing requires the services of Dog The Bounty Hunter... we're taking about excellent stuff here. -
